PhD Thesis

My PhD thesis (PDF) (HTML version) "Cluster-Based Parallelization of Simulations on Dynamically Adaptive Grids and Dynamic Resource Management" was mainly driven by being a scientific researcher in the Invasive Computing D3 project. In this project, my tasks were to
  • developed new algorithms for the parallelization of stack- and stream-based grid generations and computations on these grids (see Sierpinski framework),
  • evaluate the Invasive Computing concepts for shared-memory HPC,
  • contributed to the embedded systems demonstrator with the development of scientific algorithms.
Here are some impressions of the developed framework which can be also used for Tsunami simulations:
